Newsletter week 22

Dear Peacocks parents,

We will send two more movies of Skansen on Monday.

From week 23 we will practice the summer party every day with the whole school at 9.30. Make sure your child is on time to practice with the whole group.

It’s tick/fästing season! We do our best to check on every child but please check your child (every day) more thorough at home.

Our learning:

Monday:

In the morning the children played in the Forest as we are fixing the front yard.

After that we went inside and had snack in the science room.

In circle time we talked about Skansen, the bus trip, the groups, the animals and all the activities. One of them is the small town from the past.

With word cards we showed the children objects of the past and present. The children have learned many things about the past!

After that we finished the graduation hats and the children could play in the science room.

After lunch the children watched a movie about animals in the winter. Also the children read different books about animals.

In the afternoon the children had Capoeira class.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their use of spoken language and express their thoughts, put questions and to communicate with others

*Develop their understanding of science and relationships to nature, as well as knowledge of plants, animals, and  also simple chemical processes and physical phenomena

Marcio started making the second item for the summer party costume!

In the morning some children had dance class from Therese and in afternoon the children had dance class from Hebert.

In the afternoon we talked about all the different animals at Skansen and we talked about the movie we saw yesterday.

Wednesday:

We had a quick snack inside, after that the children went outside in the backyard and in small groups we made a cookie to bring to Skansen for every child.

In the math and construction room we had toy day! It was very nice seeing the children play together with their toys.

Marcio continued preparing the outfits for the summer party and the children made great designs.

After lunch we talked about Skansen. What we will do, how the day looks like and also about all the animals and activities we will do.

Also Florentine brought in a very old pen (dip pen) from her grandmother and a modern version. She showed the children how to use it and the children that wanted, could try to write with it.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their creative abilities and the ability to convey impressions, thoughts and experiences in many different forms, such as play, pictures, song and music, and drama

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

Thursday:

Skansen!! It was a very exciting day for the children and us. In the morning we left with the bus,  when we got to Skansen we had snack.

When we got to Skansen the children got into their small groups. Every group went their own way, the children went to the Scandinavian wild animals, to the small zoo and the farm.

We had lunch all together at the beginning of the park. After that we walked to the ‘past’. In small groups we walked through the old town and saw the shops and houses.

End of the Year Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Dear Parent

As the school term is now in full swing and our children are now settled in, the PSA has turned its thoughts to the hardworking teachers and other staff at Futuraskolan. They do, after all, take care of our precious little ones and send home to us some happy little children, so at Summer time we feel we should show our appreciation to them in some way.

With this in mind, we would like to call upon the generosity of all the parents to contribute a little money towards gifts for the staff. We wouldlike to buy gifts for not only all the regular teachers, but also the long-term subs and, of course, let’s not forget Nakako, who works so hard to ensure our growing munchkins are fed and watered every school day.

The PSA appreciates all the commitments parents have in the weeks leading up to Summer vacation, but if we could possibly persuade you to make a very small donation towards gifts we would be extremely grateful. Any donations are, of course, at your discretion, however we arehopingfor30SEK per child, but any donation at all would be very welcome, just to help us show the staff at Futuraskolan that we do appreciate the effort that they put into taking care of our kids.Ideally, with your help we would liketo achieve 150SEK per staff member, but we would be happy with whatever you could manage.

There are three methods of getting your donations to us:

(1) Cash donations should be handed to your child’s class rep (see below) (or left in an envelope in the class rep’s child’s locker (see below)). Please remember to also put your name on the envelope.

Flamingosnermen.john@yahoo.com rep: Pernilla (child: Selma) Kiwis rep: Madeleine (child: Victor) Peacocks rep: Shadi (children: Mattias & Lukas) Cockatoos rep: Pernilla (child: Selma in the Flamingo section and Sture in the Kiwi section) Ducklings rep: Jenny (child: Charlie) Penguins rep: Sanjeevi (child: Otto)

(2) Money can also be transferred to the following account:

Handelsbanken
Clearningnumber: 6152
Accountnumber:320 109 518
Account name: Pernilla Skareson.

(3) Swish – Money can be sent through Swish 070 722 10 31

All donations must be with us by June 5. Gifts will be handed out to the staff during the Summer Party on June 11.

Thank you so much in advance!
