Newsletter week 44

Dear Peacocks parents,

Important dates and information can be found at the bottom of our newsletter.

Please make sure you booked a time with Corrie, Asma or Florentine for the development talks.

Our learning:

Monday:

In the morning we discussed all the weekend adventures of the children and we talked about this weeks topic; Halloween!

After circle time the children finished their moose, you can find them in the math and construction room upstairs.

Also the children colored in pictures of Halloween and saw a little Halloween movie.

This week we still pay a lot of attention on how we treat each other at school. We noticed that it’s necessary to go back to basics of; "treat the other as you want to be treated yourself", use your words and not your hands.

We will talk to you when we notice repeatedly behavior that is not ok at school.

After lunch the children had dance class from Hebert.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

* Develop their self-autonomy and confidence in their own ability

* Develop their motor skills

Tuesday:

In the morning the children started making a Halloween lantern. On orange paper they drew straight lines with a ruler after that they cut over the lines and as finishing touch they stick on ‘pumpkin’ eyes, nose and mouth.

You can see the end result on the pictures and in real life hanging from the ceiling at the entrance hall.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their creative abilities and the ability to convey impressions

Wednesday:

In the morning we talked about Halloween and the children did a game where they had to whisper a word to each other.

After that it was time for toyday! They children showed their toys and after that the children shared their toys with each other.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

Thursday:

Today we cut a pumpkin! The children helped designing the face, took out the seeds and pulp and we cut the shapes out from the pumpkin.

After that the children played in the math and construction room and played outside.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

* Develop their understanding of the basics of quantity and measurements

Friday:

In the morning we had ‘trick or treat’. All children were dressed up as we walked to every classroom.

They got their goody bags filled with Halloween treats.

After this we made a marshmallow chocolate desert for the Halloween Fika!

After lunch we will watch a Halloween movie.

Important information:

Its getting colder! Please make sure your child has outdoor clothes according to the weather (hats and gloves).

We will have toyday every last wednesday of the month. We kindly ask you to not give your child toys to school on the other days.

Also, this week one of the children brought in chocolates, we can not allow children to bring in candy to school. Please make sure this does not happen, it puts us in a very difficult position.

We have noticed that often it happens that a child is picked up by someone else then you.

If this is the case please let us know by sending us a text message, phone call, email or directly speaking to us. This is for the safety of your child!

Also please remember that the children are not allowed to climb on the gate and fence. To keep it safe for the children we kindly ask you to not lift your children from or over the fence.  When saying goodbye or picking up a child, please do not approach or stand outside the fence.  The children will come to the fence and want to climb it which is no ok.

If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us or speak directly with us.
