We would like to ask you to save them for us and leave them with us or in your child’s locker.

Thanks for your help!

Our learning:

Monday:

Early in the morning we made the dough and the lussebullar for the Lucia fika. The children helped making all the shapes.

In circle time Corrie talked about our Nobel project and about Alfred Nobel.

Last week all the children did the experiment so we talked about it and the children could recall what we did and what the purpose was of the experiment.

The basic lesson is that the children are in control of the things that happen around them.  Their actions result in reactions around them.   With this experiment we are demonstrating the existence of numerous possibilities or perspectives.

Quantum physics informs us that a system exists in superposition — that is, in all possible states.  In the moment we observe, it becomes one specific state.

Every morning this week we practice the Lucia train outside with the whole school.

In the Science room the children made a christmas angel that can stand up. They had to color in the picture, cut it out on the lines and paste the parts together so it can stand up.

Also they could play with the animals, read books and play some board games.

In the afternoon the children played outside and finished their drawings/christmas tree.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Feel a sense of participating and create a feeling and respect for other cultures

* Develop their creative abilities

Tuesday:

In the library we counted the days until Christmas.

The children were divided in three stations. Corrie finished the Nobel project, the children drawn with Asma and they could read a book with Florentine.

In the gym we did several games such as, duck duck goose and musical pillows.

After lunch they went outside and finished the drawings.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

Wednesday:

Today it was Nobel day! The whole school was dressed up and we had a special lunch together. Every classroom showed their project to each other and received their Nobel prize.

Our Nobel prize was for quantum fisica and you can see it on the wall with all our information.

After lunch we played in the math and construction room. The children could choose themselves what they wanted to play with.

In small groups they made, together with Asma a glitter, cork, christmas tree. You can find them up in the math and construction room. They very pretty and happy!

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their mathematical skills and understanding of space

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

Thursday:

In the morning we practiced for the last time the Lucia songs and the train.

Today we baked pepper kaka for the Lucia Fika. The children helped rolling the dough and make different shapes.

The children who didn’t make a Christmas tree with Asma yet, did that today.

In the math and construction the children played in different stations, drawing, Lego, counting, math on the iPad and build with the big blocks.

Also we started to make a house top for our christmas song ‘Up on a house top’. More about this next week:)

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

* Develop their abilities to express themselves in many ways such as art and play

Friday:

In the morning we prepared for Lucia, all children brought their clothes and we practices the songs quickly. We finished our Christmas trees and the children made different other art works.

Monday:

Today we started the themes for this and next week; Nobel day and Lucia.

In circle time Corrie talked about our Nobel project and about Alfred Nobel.

After that we practiced the Lucia songs and we talked about how many days it is until christmas.

To make it visual for the children, to be able to count and to understand the concept of time we have an Advent calendar that we will discuss every day till christmas break. All children will open one day, through  potluck we will decide who will open a box every day.

The group was divided in three groups; Nobel day with Corrie, Christmas drawing, and draw and cut out all parts of a christmas tree and glue them on a paper in the right order.

In the afternoon the children played outside and finished their drawings/christmas tree.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Feel a sense of participating and create a feeling and respect for other cultures

* Develop their creative abilities

Tuesday:

Corrie talked a lot about Alfred Nobel, who he was, what he did and all the different prizes.

Besides counting the days on the calendar we also have as many beads as days left in a box.

We printed out different Christmas/winter drawings that the children could color in.

In the morning the children made a christmas shape out of salt dough. They could choose a sled, gingerbread man, snowman, reindeer, christmas tree. After making the shape they went in the oven. Friday we will paint them so they can go in the christmas tree at home.

After lunch they went outside and finished the drawings.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their creative abilities and the ability to convey impressions

* Develop their interest in the written and spoken language

Wednesday:

In circle time we practiced the Lucia songs together with Olga who joined us today.

The cockatoos went around the school to give everybody hugs for their piece Nobel prize.

In the math and construction room the children did three activities. Talk about the history of Nobel day with Olga, make a Santa by coloring in, cutting out and pasting it on a paper so it becomes a Real Santa and draw in their drawing book or color in in a snowman.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their mathematical skills and understanding of space

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn

Thursday:

Today we welcomed Robert, he lived in England and will be in the Peacocks with us.

We practiced the Lucia train outside with the whole school! We will practice this next week every day at 9.15.

In circle time Corrie did a recap about Alfred Nobel. The children now know a lot about him now!

In the Math and construction room the children could play with the blocks, lego, draw and make paper christmas balls.

After lunch we went outside together with the Flamingoes. When we came inside the children wanted to finish their drawings and the children who did not make a Santa, made one then.

We have been working on the following Lpfö goals:

* Develop their curiosity and enjoyment, as well as their ability to play and learn
